Lindsey Clair

Expert Guru

My name is Lindsey Clair and I am an aspiring writer. My passion came shortly after I lost my newborn son back in August of 2005. I wrote a poem in honor and memory of him and sent it into a contest where it became a semi-finalist. It was then published. I have created an E-newsletter which goes out once a month to mothers who have had the devasting experience of losing a baby. I also have created a website for mothers as well. I am currently writing my first book which also in turn has to do with my experience of losing a baby.

I have written articles for Ehow and a music writing program. I absolutely love to write and find it very theraputic. I would love to take some writing courses to further expand my knowledge and writing skills. I recently was accepted into the Long Ridge Writers group program and I am thinking long and hard about taking their courses. They were impressed with my writing talent. I also passed their writing aptitude test.

I love writing about everyday experiences in life. I also like writing things that may help reach out to people like what I am currently doing now with my newsletter and website.

10 Tips from Lindsey Clair

Cherish every moment!

Take as much time for yourself before the baby is born. When the baby comes life will be busy and hectic. Enjoy Being waited on and pampered. Those days will be gone as soon as you hold the baby in your arms. This is a glorious time of course when you see your baby's sweet face but it's very easy to take for granted the time that you do have before the baby is born, especially if this is your first baby! So cherish every possible moment of time that you do have!

Balance work and home life

We live in a time where mothers have to work. Whether it be part time or full time it can be difficult to balance work and home life. Try to keep both separate. When you are at work focus on the tasks at hand then when you get home focus on your family. Leave work at work. Your family will need your time and attention. If possible put off all house work until the weekend. Make sure you take 1 hour a day for yourself.

Women turning 30

Turning 30 years old means hormonal changes in a woman. Metabolism shifts and mood swings. A new approach to health and diet are very important now. Changing Vitamins to suit your body's needs is important as well. Women's One a day multivitamin is an excellent supplement for women in this age group. It supports breast health etc.

Work out!

It is very important to exercise even if you are on a well balanced diet. You want to reinforce nutrition with exercise. Our bodies are like machines and need to be taken care of and maintained. If it is never doing anything it will wear out and die. We do not want this to happen so doing Aerobics 3 to 5 times a week is important to staying healthy.

Get paid!

There are many work from home sites out there. The best place to go epecially if you are a mother is to www.cafemom.com, they have groups on there where moms post different opportunities that are available to work from home. Beware of scams, there are many out there. If a site requires you to pay money before you work then it is a scam. Be aware Work at home business opportunities do require monetary investments. Business opportunities are different from that of GTP sites.

You can do it!

Losing weight takes discipline and committment. This does not happen over night and needs to be a habit that you will form in life. The best thing is to write down your goals and then stick to them. If you need to, keep track of everything you consume for the day. It is very important to keep track of calorie intakes. Try eating 3 main meals a day. (2 starches, a meat, cheese, fruit and vegetable) and 3 small meals in between like a fruit an dairy, or a starch and a dairy. Keeping these things under control will help your appetite stay curbed and then you will see results. It can be done, you can do it!

All Day Cares are not created equal

When searching for the right childcare for your children it is important you do extensive research on the center and it's staff before you leave your children for the day. Many Day Care centers do not provide the best and safest care for children. The first thing to ease your mind is find out if the Day Care is accredited by NAEYCE )The National Association for the education of young children), or any type of major early childhood accrediation programs. If they do not bear this seal, do not send your child. These programs properly screen their employees and require education and an experienced backround. Just because the Day Care has the cheapest rates and it's close by doesn't mean it's the safest for your child. Keep that in mind. Also is the center clean? Is the staff loving and curious to know more about your child and the family? If the center has a director and staff that are passive and seem crude and rude in their people skills, this center should be crossed off your list. If you don't get the pleasant feeling when you walk in, walk right back out.

Anniversary,what is that?

When it comes to wedding anniversaries not many can say that they have these. There are more divorces than anything anymore. If you have been married for more than 3 years, props to you! Quick marriages are the saddest trend these days and no one takes it seriously. If you are on the verge of celebrating a wedding anniversary be sure to have some fun together and make a big celebration about it, happily married couples are now the minority. Celebrate your day!

Eating Dark Chocolate benefits health!

It's true Dark Chocolate possesses antioxidants that our bodies need to fight off diseases, infections, and cancers. It has been proven that is has more antioxidants than red wine. Be sure to consume dark chocolate as part of your everyday diet. Of course do this in moderation and according to serving sizes. If you do no like dark chocolate, start acquiring a taste for it, like milk, it does a body good.

Does it work?

It can work if used correctly and consistently. If it's a birth control pill, take it everday at the same time. If you skip it, this will increase your chances of it failing. If using a condom, be sure that the other partner uses maybe a spermicide at the same time to decrease chances of it not working. There are many ways around it. Using the ryhthm method is risky and may not be effective.
