Bio
I began my fitness career in New York City in the 1970s. When my husband and I moved to Boston, I discovered alpine skiing. Nine years later, we moved to Summit County Colorado, where we opened Mountain Sport Pilates and Fitness. Two years later, I published my book, Open Your Heart With Winter Fitness: Mastering Life Through Love of the Slopes, available at Amazon.com.
I am the ski-fitness coach for the Epicski Academy, and a Master Instructor Trainer for Fitour. This summer, I will be teaching a ski-fitness week in Portillo, Chile! Tips
Tip: Skiing on a Budget
Avoid weekends, Spring break and holidays. You will get better bargains midweek.
If you are visiting Los Cabos, keep in mind that it is dangerous to swim on the beaches. In fact, in high tide, you do not want to walk too close to the water, since you can be dragged in by the undertow. Tip: Progressive Balance ExcerciseAlthough there are many coll balance exercise toys on the market, remember that balance should be developed progressively. Start with simple one legged exercises before moving on to challenging equipment. Tip: Adding Pizzazz to PilatesIf you are getting bored with your Pilates workout, try performing some of the exercises on the ball or bosu. The balance challenge will force you to engage your core, and it's also a lot of fun! |
