August 17, 2007, Newsletter Issue #64: The Bridge To A Better Butt

Tip of the Week

For the butt workouts that will help you fit into your sexy jeans, be sure to include this move: The Bridge. It sounds easy, but it will work those gluteal muscles.

Here’s how to do it:
Lie on your back with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor and arms along your sides.

Engage your abs and lift your hips 4 to 6 inches off the floor.

Press into the floor with your palms as you lift your hips another inch higher. Hold for three seconds, and then lower back to the first position of 4 to 6 inches off the floor.

Repeat the 3-second pulse 15 times. Now here’s the really tough part: Repeat the move, but extend your right leg towards the ceiling. Keep your leg straight as you squeeze through the left gluteal muscle to keep your hips level. Hold for 3 seconds and repeat for 20-30 small pulses, then lower your leg and repeat on the other side.
